• The exact location of Springwood is mysterious. Deleted scenes from the original A Nightmare on Elm Street implied the film took place in California. The majority of the sequels kept the location of the town vague, and it was only with the short-lived television series Freddy's Nightmares that confirmed the town's location in Ohio. This was later used in the next feature film, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. In Freddy vs. Jason, it takes the protagonists a short time to drive from Springwood to Crystal Lake, which is located in New Jersey, although the states of Ohio and New Jersey are far apart in reality.
