Both of these characters are very much human, unlike their predecessors who were all magically endowed or created by pseudo-science. Though their initial movies are twenty years apart, they just seem perfect to match-up against each other. Both films that they came from were based on novels and took many liberties, as well as having overshadowed their source material. Also both are known for legendary performances from the actors Anthony Perkins and Jack Nicholson. Performances that defined their careers since. With knife and axe in hand the two now fight.
